This month I continued to heal from all my surgeries. Another painful month with my shoulders causing me stress and pain.
I completed my first call with my Mentee Minakshi Birajdar for the World Pulse Community Mentor Program 2021.
I participated in a webinar about participating as a Fair Trade Ambassador with the WFTO.
Many thanks to all my fairtrade friends and family for their birthday wishes.
For those that don't know I was admitted to hospital after a few weeks of excruciating pain in my left ovary and required urgent surgery.
My cyst was removed 17th March 2020. This was my third polycystic ovarian surgery since 2004.
During November 2017 I had my first rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder, and then a year later October 2018 I had the same surgery on my left shoulder.
Its been a long 4 years of excruciating pain, sleepless nights and slow healing.
I still have bouts of low energy, pain and anxiety.
This month was another particularly bad month, my left shoulder was very painful and typing incredibly difficult.
Thank you to all my friends and family who pray for my recovery and good health.
This year I applied to World Pulse as a Community Mentor.
My application was successful and I was paired with Minakshi Birajdar from Soegoan near Aurangabad, India.
Minakshi is a social activist empowering women in her city of Aurangabad and its surrounding villages.
Minakshi was recently selected as a finalist in the television awards.
So proud of you!
Heartfelt Congratulations Minakshi...:)
I hope to continue encouraging Minakshi with her work and encourage her to post more of her photographs and videos about her initiatives and campaigns.
The exposure on her Facebook group would highlight her work internationally, domestically and hopefully a gateway to further funding opportunities, awards and media coverage.
Earlier this year (May 2021) I applied to become a Fair Trade Ambassador with the World Fair Trade Organization.
My application was accepted and I attended a call with other Fair Trade Ambassadors 18th August and Chief Executive Erinch Sahan who recently left his post.
Best wishes to Mr Sahan for his dedication, patience, compassion for the WFTO family, I wish him well with his new role.
I look forward to continuing my work as a fairtrade campaigner, educator and social entrepreneur.
I have attached part of the email Mr Sahan sent before his departure.
We know that all of you as individuals possess these networks and are thought-leaders in your area.
We hope that being recognised as a Fair Trade Ambassador will help to engage your existing audiences about WFTO and Fair Trade.
Thank you for reading and I hope to bring you another monthly blog next month health prevailing.
Love and respect to everyone making and being the difference.
