This month I continued to heal from my shoulder procedure (January 2022) and am learning to live with pain in my right shoulder.
I celebrated World Fair Trade Day 2023 and edited videos in English and Urdu.
I edited my in Fairtrade Ethical Ramadan 2023 video in English and Urdu.
I also edited my 5 videos for the Six Items Challenge 2023 with Labour Behind The Label in English.

This year World Fair Trade Day was observed on 13 May 2023, The World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) will focus on the theme "Reimagining the Economy: Regenerative Businesses for the Future.
" It’s critically important for us to reimagine the economy and find a more sustainable and equitable way forward.
I tried to support the event as best as I could despite being very poorly.
This year The World Fair Trade Organization's theme was called, #REIMAGININGTHEECONOMY

Hello, Assalaam Alaikum, peace and blessings!
Ramdan Mubarak!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.
I'm Sabeena, a social entrepreneur, fair trade campaigner and educator.
So here I am for the 11th consecutive year participating in the Six Items Challenge with Labour Behind The Label.
AIM
My aim is to raise awareness about Fast Fashion, Garment Workers and decent wages and good working conditions online/offline.
WHAT IS THE SIX ITEMS CHALLENGE?
The six items challenge means I choose six items of clothing for April 2023.
Don't worry!
This does not include under garments or exercise gear. You can wear an endless supply of these. :)
This year I hope I can complete the challenge. My health has been poor with my right shoulder being very painful due to ongoing treatment.
It is a long term ambition to design a fairtrade slow fashion collection in memory of my beautiful mother Mrs Meshar Mumtaz Bano and support fair trade certified cotton farmers, sustainable and ethical producers.
My beloved mother was a great advocate for women's empowerment and education.
I believe she would have been happy and proud of me to continue my campaigning for the millions of countless individuals producing clothes and accessories in factories and workshops around the world.
Hopefully by the end of the Six Week Challenge I would have educated a few people and raised a few pounds.

اس سال مجھے امید ہے کہ میں چیلنج کو پورا کر سکوں گا۔ میری طبیعت ناساز ہے اور میرا داہنا کندھا جاری علاج کی وجہ سے بہت تکلیف دہ ہے۔
میری خوبصورت والدہ مسز میشر ممتاز بانو کی یاد میں فیئر ٹریڈ سست فیشن کلیکشن ڈیزائن کرنا اور منصفانہ تجارت کے سرٹیفائیڈ کپاس کے کاشتکاروں، پائیدار اور اخلاقی پروڈیوسروں کی حمایت کرنا ایک طویل مدتی خواہش ہے۔
میری پیاری والدہ خواتین کو بااختیار بنانے اور تعلیم کی بہت بڑی حامی تھیں۔
مجھے یقین ہے کہ وہ دنیا بھر میں فیکٹریوں اور ورکشاپوں میں کپڑے اور لوازمات تیار کرنے والے لاکھوں لاتعداد افراد کے لیے اپنی مہم جاری رکھنے پر خوش اور فخر محسوس کرتی ہوں گی۔
امید ہے کہ چھ ہفتے کے چیلنج کے اختتام تک میں نے چند لوگوں کو تعلیم دی ہوگی اور چند پاؤنڈز اکٹھے کیے ہوں گے۔

WHO ARE LABOUR BEHIND THE LABEL?
Labour Behind The Label is a campaign that works to improve conditions and empower workers in the global garment industry.
The garment industry turns over almost 3 trillion dollars a year.
Yet garment workers, 80% of them women, work for poverty pay, earning as little as 68 pounds a month.
Human rights abuses are systematic throughout the industry.
Poverty wages, long hours, forced overtime, unsafe working conditions, sexual, physical and verbal abuse, repression of trade union rights and short term contracts are all common place in the clothing industry.
It is an industry built on exploitation and growing under a lack of transparency that makes holding brands accountable difficult.
We are dedicated to changing this.
LABOUR BEHIND THE LABEL SUPPORTS GARMENT WORKERS’ EFFORTS WORLDWIDE TO IMPROVE THEIR WORKING CONDITIONS AND CHANGE THE FASHION INDUSTRY FOR THE BETTER. WE REPRESENT THE CLEAN CLOTHES CAMPAIGN IN THE UK.

لیبر کے پیچھے لیبل ایک مہم ہے جو عالمی لباس کی صنعت میں حالات کو بہتر بنانے اور کارکنوں کو بااختیار بنانے کے لیے کام کرتی ہے۔
ملبوسات کی صنعت ہر سال تقریباً 3 ٹریلین ڈالر سے زائد کا کاروبار کرتی ہے۔

Despite my pain I managed to attend a webinar and record videos about PIE Community members expressing an interest to join.
I celebrated World Cancer Day 2024 by creating a poster in Urdu and English.
I participated in a School for Social Entrepreneur webinar with Chris Hines MBE.

I am grateful to all the guest speakers and trainers who took time out of their busy schedules to talk about Suicide Prevention, Bereavement and Write to Speak Your Poetry.
